Armory in Aden City Explodes, 14 Killed

ADEN- A series of explosions at an armory in the second largest city in Yemen, Aden, Saturday (28/03/2015), killing at least 14 people. Similarly, the country's official explanation.

The explosion in the arsenal that can be heard from all corners of the city and black smoke seen rising high into the air from the location of the previous day arsenal looted residents.

Armory was located at the foot of the mountain Jabal Hadid overlooking the harbor. A large number of weapons from the Soviet period are stored in the warehouse in the form of the cave.

"So far we have found 14 dead. We get a lot of information still bodies inside but we could not get into the location because of the thick smoke closing the region," said Department of Health Direkturk Al-Kheder Lassouar.

Witnesses said many people were inside or at the top of Jabal Hadid when the explosion occurred. However, some people have been killed in looting long before the explosion occurred.

"Those who enter to loot weapons killed other people who do not find what they are looking for," said an eyewitness.

Another witness said several people were killed out of breath after inhaling toxic gases from the gunpowder stored in the cave.
